BYU Football to wear all-blue uniforms against Boise State

PROVO, Utah –When BYU football hosts Boise State on Saturday, Oct. 9 at LaVell Edwards, the Cougars go all blue. A look the Broncos typically wear.

BYU will wear Navy uniforms against Boise State. This is the first time since 2004 that BYU will wear a navy helmet. BYU wore navy helmets with vegas tan decals from 1999-2004 before returning to white helmets in 2005 when Bronco Mendenhall took over as head coach.

In March, BYU rolled out a bunch of new uniform and helmet combinations to bring their total to 26 different looks. The all-navy blue look was not worn this season.

BYU fans attending the game are encouraged to wear navy blue for the game to be held on network television.

This match with Boise State has become an annual rivalry for BYU since becoming an FBS Independent in 2011. BYU has won the last two meetings of the series. Last year’s victory over Boise State was BYU’s first over the Blue Turf.

Last year BYU wore all-white uniforms against the Broncos with royal blue numbers and stripes. The last time BYU donned navy jerseys against Boise State was in 2017.

BYU enters the game against Boise State undefeated with a 5-0 record. Boise State comes into the game with a losing record of 2-3.
