As the soccer world continues to wait for the start of training camp later this month, Julian Edelman and the Patriots social media team took the time to celebrate “Homecoming Thursday” this week by sharing some vintage photos.
On Instagram, Edelman shared a photo from his early days with the Patriots before becoming a starting wide receiver in 2013.
Prior to this season, Edelman spent his 2009-2012 rookie season playing various positions in all three phases of football, from returning kicks, playing defense, or catching an occasional pass.
“Fun fact, I took a soccer ball everywhere I went between 2009 and 2012. #TBT, ”Edelman wrote in a caption referring to the start of his NFL run.

Also on Thursday, the Patriots shared an incredible classic photoshoot featuring Drew Bledsoe, Tedy Bruschi, Damien Woody, Attorney Milloy and Troy Brown as construction workers “building” the new Gillette Stadium during the 2001 season.
These guys really look like a team that was perfect for a “biggest turf show” shake up later that winter.
By the way, the Pro Shop should really consider reselling these “Patriots Construction Company” shirts.
