Virudhunagar will get an integrated clothing park of Rs 400 cr

Responding to the debate on the application for grants for the Assembly Industries Department, State Minister of Industry Thangam Thennarasu said an integrated clothing park would be developed at a cost of Rs 400 crore. in Kumaralingapuram SIPCOT in Virudhunagar to promote industrial growth in southern districts. The world-class park that will be developed over 250 hectares at SIPCOT would generate direct and indirect jobs for 15,000 people.

Thennarasu also announced a first future mobility park of its kind which will be developed by SIPCOT at a cost of Rs 300 crore at Shoolagiri in Krishnagiri. The mobility fleet would focus on the development of electric vehicles, hydrogen vehicles and automated vehicles.

A new 576 acre SIPCOT park would be developed at a cost of Rs 250 crore at Uthukotai in Tiruvallur. The government also announced a 150 million rupee project to improve roads, storm sewers, water supply, street lighting, solid waste management and security infrastructure in 10 SIPCOTs.

The ministry also announced the renovation of water bodies in industrial parks at a cost of Rs 100 crore. The Minister of Industry has also announced a new brand of cement under the name “Valimai” soon. The ad went viral on social media, with many equating the minister’s announcement with the upcoming film by actor Ajith, who was also named.
